Lingua Meeting | Courses levels

The Spanish course is organized into 8 basic levels. Each level requires between 30 to 60 hours of work.

We recommend that the numbers of hours of work per level should be divided in self-study (WileyPlus) and class with the tutor (video conference).

Lingua Meeting is a member of the ACTFL (American Council of Teaching Foreign Languages) and uses the National Standards in its teaching curriculum.

This general classification is aimed to provide an approximate assessment of your knowledge of Spanish in correlation to the ACTFL Scale:

Our Scale	ACTFL Scale	Definition
8	Native	Able to speak like an educated native speaker.
7	Distinguished	Able to speak with a great deal of fluency, grammatical accuracy, precision of vocabulary and idiomatic expressions.
6	Superior	Speak the language with sufficient structural accuracy and vocabulary to participate effectively in most formal and informal conversations.
5	Advanced Plus	Able to satisfy most work requirements and show some ability to communicate on concrete topics.
4	Advanced	Able to satisfy routine social demands and limited work requirements.
3	Intermediate-High	Able to satisfy most survival needs and limited social demands.
2	Intermediate-Mid	Able to satisfy some survival needs and some limited social demands.
1	Intermediate-Low	Able to satisfy basic survival needs and minim. courtesy requirements.
1	Novice - High	Able to satisfy immediate needs with learned utterances.
1	Novice - Mid	Able to operate in only a very limited capacity.
1	Novice - Low	Unable to function in the spoken language and No ability whatsoever in the language
